Catapult raised $5m to build context infrastructure that will enable Web3 communities to transform human coordination.
Catapult was founded by Rav Singh Sandhu, a former EMEA Lead at Facebook, and Greg Wilsenach, a Cambridge PhD in computer science and mathematics.
The platform comes out of closed alpha today, extending from previous collaborations with Index Coop and Aragon DAO, to include communities like Krause House, Lex DAO, Biconomy DAO, Spectral Finance, Algovera AI, Popcorn DAO, and groups within Bankless DAO.

Catapult came out of closed alpha today alongside a $5m fundraising announcement.
The round was led by Blockchain Capital, and with participation from funds like Eden Block, Orange DAO, Reverie, as well as leading builders and founders from across Web3.
‘DAOs have demonstrated the potential to supercharge community-led growth, but they often struggle to convert community members to productive contributors. Greg and Rav have brought an awesome team together at Catapult to arm DAO operators and community managers with powerful tools that provide context and drive meaningful collaboration and connection between members — helping unlock the potential of DAOs and Web3 communities.’

Catapult is coming out of closed alpha with Index Coop and Aragon DAO and partnering with Web3 communities including Krause House, Lex DAO, Biconomy DAO, Spectral Finance, Algovera AI, Popcorn DAO, and groups within Bankless DAO to unlock the power of community.
‘Catapult’s onboarding, rich profiles, and explore tools will help members get the most out of the amazing Krause House community. I can’t wait to see the connections, ideas, and collaboration that ensue!’
Mario Lopes, Krause House DAO
DAO’s are an amazing tool for co-ordinating large groups of people behind a big unifying goal. The activities of groups like Krause House, Constitution DAO, and Ukraine DAO clearly show this.
We are not much by ourselves but we are a lot together.
But, beyond the initial big audacious goal, our ability to co-ordinate within any large community is in its infancy. We stumble on communication overwhelm, fragmented tooling, lack of visibility and transparency, duplication of effort… people join, but are quickly lost.
As Rav says, “I’ll happily spend 12 hours a week working for a DAO but I don’t want to spend 45 minutes just figuring out how to contribute.”
At the root of all of those symptoms is a lack of context.
It starts with effortless onboarding. Catapult makes it easy to capture information about new joiners, while also sharing information about the community and guiding them to the right starting point.
No more ‘one size fits all’ for new joiners. Less heavy lifting for community managers.
The information that is captured populates rich profiles so that new members can effectively establish themselves. These profiles are pseudonymous friendly, the data is user owned, and each individual can control what elements are visible at a very granular level.
